Federal funding has been cut for the National Endowment of the Arts, affecting arts organizations around the country. Small arts organizations, especially those in underserved communities which are historically underfunded, are closing their doors quietly.
We release these t-shirts as a testament to the viability of culture and the nation’s next generation of creatives who despite policy and challenges seek to inspire, create, and are able to continue to offer their gifts to the world.
Edutainment’s creative programming has provided a space for all creatives to find a platform that not just expresses their creativity, but allows for opportunities to advance their artistic careers and skills that they can take with them through real world experiences. From art exhibitions that have garnered public attention to fashion shows that continue to inspire and motivate, these creative platforms that allow for growth and development are very much needed in our community.

All proceeds will directly support Edutainment Productions’ ongoing programs and initiatives while also seeding a new small emergency-grant fund , for small artists and grassroots organizations throughout the region.

You’re basically trying to put a stop to the arts,” said Kotecha. “You’re not funding us, so basically you want it to slowly die. And when arts organizations have to close their doors, that means there’s one less outlet for young or emerging artists to be able to have that platform.
What will the Funds Go Towards?
50% of net proceeds:
Directly support Edutainment Productions Inc. to maintain programming, expand creative workforce efforts, and continue leading advocacy work for underserved communities across Northern Virginia.
50% of net proceeds:
Allocated to a National Microgrant Fund for Small & Underserved Arts Organizations.
This fund will support groups in crisis, provide seed money for relaunching programs, and fund creative projects that align with advocacy, cultural preservation and community healing.
